Record a decision and share the right material

Keep team notes, hiring decisions and external submissions distinct.

Before you begin

Access to the application. Editing, export and sharing controls depend on your role.

Step by step#

  1. Check the application

On the candidate page, select the intended job/application if there is more than one. Read the report or submission for that interview.

  2. Write the human reasoning

Use the decision controls and required reasoning field to record the next stage. Separate your assessment from what the candidate stated. Use Notes for relevant team context.

  3. Use internal sharing for colleagues

The report-sharing control creates a workspace destination. Recipients still need the appropriate access; it is not a public customer portal.

  4. Choose the correct export

Candidate JSON export serves a different purpose from a staffing client submission. For a client-facing staffing handoff, approve the submission and use Copy text or Download printable HTML.

An explicit next step#

Application stage, internal notes and submission approval each express something different. Advancing an application does not silently approve an export; approving a submission does not hire the candidate.

A colleague cannot open the shared report#

Ask the owner to check membership and job assignments. Do not bypass those controls by publishing candidate information or invitation links.
